lots of exciting stuff going on in the sky tonight. we've got the lunar eclipse beginning around 10pm. best to catch it tonight because your next chance is December 2010. for those who don't know, unlike a solar eclipse you can look at a lunar eclipse without frying your retinas. it may be cloudy but there will be breaks in the clouds so you can at least catch a glimpse.
and somewhere else in the world the u.s navy will attempt to shoot down a malfunctioning super-secret spy satellite filled with 1,000 pounds of toxic hydrazine with a $10 million missile. location: somewhere over the pacific and although the projected landing area is 70% water there's still the other 30% to worry about.
